For Studiometry 8.x and newer:
Studiometry 8.x gives you the ability to select a data location when you launch the program. To do this, hold the option or the control key when first launching Studiometry. A dialog will then appear asking you where you'd like to load the Studiometry data files from.

If you select "Choose Folder..." you can select a specific folder to load data from. With this, you can then setup several different folders containing completely separate company data including templates, databases, and settings. To switch between companies, you will need to simply restart Studiometry and then hold the option or control key again on launch.
You can install the same serial number on any number of companies on the same machine.
We have introduced a new Studiometry MultiCompany Startup application, available at the links below:
Studiometry MultiCompany Startup is an application that will help you manage multiple Studiometry companies on one computer. Previously this was handled directly through Studiometry, requiring multiple licenses. We've changed this to allow one license for all companies on the same machine, and we've moved the function to a "Launcher" application that helps move your data before launching Studiometry.
To use this program, YOU MUST LAUNCH THE STUDIOMETRY MULTICOMPANY STARTUP INSTEAD OF STUDIOMETRY when you want to use Studiometry or switch your company. Studiometry must be closed when using this application. If you launch Studiometry without going through Studiometry MultiCompany Startup, the currently active company will be loaded and you will be given no company choices. If you plan on using multiple companies we strongly recommend removing Studiometry from your dock and replacing it with Studiometry Multi-Company Startup.
IF YOU CURRENTLY USE STUDIOMETRY'S OLD MULTI-COMPANY FEATURES:
You will need to transition to this new method following these steps:
1. Quit Studiometry
2. Open Studiometry MultiCompany Startup
3. You will see a list of ID numbers for your old setup ("CIALDOWKNE" for example) and one company named "Default Company"
4. Default Company is the currently loaded company. All other companies are in your multi-company settings but must be renamed. Old names will not transfer over so you will need to load each company to discover the company name, and then enter it into Studiometry MultiCompany Startup.
Comments
We have updated this post to include more information about the improved company selection using the Custom Database Location features available in Studiometry 8.x.
It would be helpful for there to be step-by-step instructions for setting up a multi-company situation in v9.X — this is the only page I can find but it doesn't explain how/where to manage different folders.
You can just follow the instructions for "8.x and newer". You simply set up multiple folders on your machine, then use the option key when launching Studiometry to bring up the dialog letting you choose the folder you'd like to use.
