OS X 10.9 Mavericks has a new feature called App Nap that will put programs to "sleep" periodically and prevent any processes from being run. This will also cause Studiometry's networking code to halt, which can cause problems with networked environments.
To fix these problems, simply disable App Nap for Studiometry on any machines running on OS X 10.9 or newer. To do this:
- Find your Studiometry application file in the Finder. This is usually located at Applications/Studiometry and can be displayed easily by Command-Clicking on Studiometry in your dock
- Select the Studiometry app and choose File Menu > Get Info (Command-I)
- In the window that appears, check "Prevent App Nap"
That's it! Just do this on any machines with 10.9 that you have connected to your network and the disconnects and networking issues will be resolved.
