Studiometry Express, on the Mac App Store, has several limitations due to the App Store itself. One of the main limitations is that apps submitted to the App Store cannot control certain other apps using AppleScript.
Studiometry uses AppleScript to perform various functions, such as:
- Send emails through Apple Mail and several other apps
- Activating Studiometry to bring it to the front when certain actions are performed
- Opening certain folders in the Finder or performing specific actions.
Because of this, Studiometry Express cannot compose an email using the Email button. If you want to send an invoice or other report from Studiometry you will have to export the file and then create the email manually and drag-and-drop the file into mail.
The full version of Studiometry, which is not distributed through the Mac App Store, does no have any of these limitation.
