I don't know whether you still have this problem but I generally get this error when I have set up a template with fonts that are either faulty or non existent at the time I create/send the report (invoice, etc).
The way to fix this for me is to carefully go through all the fields (text and variables) in the report(s) and check that all fonts used are actually installed and active on the system.
I have the same issue, but the invoice will print just fine and I can even use the mail PDF function in the Print window. It is just the email invoice function that has the error.
Just spent four hours carefully customising and styling the invoice to be the serious document that it needs to be consistent with the new corporate look. Constant checking through the design stage and now that it has been approved its destroys its design as soon as you try to send it to the client. AARRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!
The fonts ARE on the computer that has the template and that I am sending them from and done all the customisation on. The fonts are not on the server client of studiometry. Installing them there now but I somehow doubt that is the issue.
Using the print option: its fine. Saving a PDF when using the print option: fine. Mail pdf from print dialogue: fine.
Use the "Email" option (which is the most preferred option) it loses its fonts, sizes and leading information.
Export: It loses its fonts, sizes and leading information. Not Pretty. Tired and underwhelmed.
I had the same problem. When exporting an invoice as a pdf, Studiometry does´t find many of my installed fonts.
They only work, when I manually copy the font files to:
/system/library/fonts
Seems that templates with PostScript fonts aren't working for me (as Brian described above), and produce these errors (see attached) on 'Export' and 'Email', but not 'Print/PDF/Save as PDF..'
Putting the fonts in the system/library/fonts folder doesn't make a difference for me.
Switching to all TrueType or Opentype does fix the problem.
Any help would be appreciated as the my company font is Postscript.
thanks, Shift Studio.
Hey Guys,
Just wanted to let you know that there was a new feature added to 11.0.2 that should help for users encountering this issue. IF you do the following it should help:
1. In your templates, make sure to go in and select the template items encountering the issue and then manually select the font from the popup list to ensure that it is spelled exactly as the font name is on the computer.
2. In the Preferences Window > Billing Settings > Advanced section, check Safe Match Fonts when exporting to PDF.
As long as the fonts are installed on your computer (and not managed or hidden using a font manager), and you’ve properly selected their exact font name, this will resolve the issue.
Hi Oranged Support.
Thanks for the efforts on fixing this. It didn't quite work for me.
I followed the instructions, Studiometry still produces an error on 'Email' and 'Export' (see attached screengrab)
Now, however, upon pressing 'Continue' a pdf is generated and has 2 of 3 fonts (Gotham-Light & Gotham-Bold) embedded and displaying correctly. The text using font shown in the error message (Gotham-Medium) has used a substitute font.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Sheldon.
IS Gotham-Medium managed by a font manager on your system? Also, for that template did you make sure to select all locations where Gotham-Medium is used and manually reselect the font name from the popup? It might be named/typed differently in the font name than the other two fonts.
Hi Oranged.
No, the font is stored in my library/fonts folder.
I just checked the template, and replaced manually from the popup from Gotham-Medium to Gotham-Bold.
Now, I get the same error message, but with 'Gotham-Bold' instead of 'Gotham-Medium'. If I choose 'Continue' the pdf produced appears fine.
As a test, I made a new invoice template with only one line and formatted it to Gotham-Medium, and it worked properly (no error message). So thats pretty confusing.
Any more suggestions? Thanks, Sheldon.
