I've recently moved to Studiometry from Billings, and I'm fairly satisfied with the move so far, but I can't figure out how to get Studiometry to provide one very important feature that I was able to have in Billings.
As a freelance translator, virtually all of my work is based on text quantities and NOT on hours worked. As projects come in from clients, I add them to Studiometry along with estimated word counts (which I then finalize and convert to whatever unit of measure the client prefers once the job is done) and due dates. What I need, then, is as easy way to see how many words of text I have to do over a given period of time (e.g. today, this week, until x date, etc.). I need this to be easily accessible because it's crucial information in order to be able to determine if I have room for new projects that clients want to give me.
So what I'd really like to be able to do is add the columns I need to the views for the smart groups I've created for this purpose. Is this possible? It doesn't seem to be.
Alternatively, I'd like to have a summary that gives me this information, but there's something I'm not understanding about summaries because, for example, I can't get the "This Work Week" summary to show me the info I need. I either get too many records or none at all.
Or is there a way to customize the "Print To Do List" output?
The only workaround I've found so far is to manually type the word counts into my to-do descriptions, but surely that can't be the only solution. It's certainly not an elegant one.
N.B. I currently enter the estimated word counts into the project "specs" when the job is assigned, and I add the actual "work & expenses" after the job is complete. Would adding the expense item immediately help me to get the planning data I need into a summary or (ideally) into a smart group?
