Where's the Brief?

Studiometry is a program for creative studios ... so where is the tab for the project Brief? A brief is one of the key documents for our creative studio. It is an essential page in our quote/proposal report and is followed by the quote, the project scope (also missing!) and the agreement which the client must sign to accept the brief and the quote.

By the way, all those things need to be contained in one PDF to send to the client. Studiometry currently only allows 2 customisable pages in the reports so we are currently stitching together multiple reports out of Studiometry (created with print-PDF because there is no PDF export!) in Acrobat.

  With Studiometry 12.5, we added the ability to create and enter Forms. These can be used to create and track briefs, and any other type of information related to your project that would be a series of questions and answers. You can see more information about Forms here:

  You can create a new form named "Brief" and add any fields necessary to complete your brief. This form can be added to any of your projects or clients and you can easily reference the input at any point from within the project.

  I sympathize — I have a similar paperwork flow in my studio and don't find Studiometry useful for the same reasons. I generate these materials (brief, quote, contract, even invoices) outside of studiometry and only use Studiometry for my internal project/invoice/bill tracking. It's extra work for me, and not an elegantly integrated workflow.

  The ability to append PDFs (such as "terms and conditions" or "Project brief") would be a great start. Allowing more pages in the quote/invoice templates would be better!

  An update to this post: first, report and invoice templates have been updated to allow for an unlimited number of customizable pages. You can put whatever you'd like on each page of a template, which gives much more flexibility here.

  Next, due to the introduction of logs and various other powerful note taking abilities, many users will put project brief or scope information into the text based notes/logs fields (which can even tie in with your Project Templates in Studiometry 10.x to be automatically populated based on project type), and you can also use the Project Specs sections for customizable but smaller fields. 

  If you wanted to use the Notes field as your brief, all you'd have to do is simply add the ProjectNotes tag to any invoice or report template and it will access and display the information within that field when the report or invoice is generated.

  Pardon me if I sound like a novice but that sounds rather a complex solution. I have to be expert in a dozen different creative programs and am glazing over at the prospect of a new meta language in the tool that is meant to make my life easier. Can it be as simple as a "brief" button?

  As an Studiometry Consultant (Belgium based) we often build templates for situations like Project Briefs for our clients. And it is not that difficult.
  Studiometry just has a lot of options. This is what we usually do .
  
  We make a new Report Template so we can Brand it.
  Then add auto fields for the clients name and address.
  We use the ReportFields to add the info.
  And some extra pages for the terms and conditions.
  
  Only thing we experience is the space of the ReportField to type the text is insufficiënt. Besides that, it's a really simple solution.
