Enable Report Fields for Visual Invoice Templates

While Project Specs provides a means to create custom variables on a per project basis, it is sometimes desirable to  have custom fields on a per invoice basis, such as a Past Due notification. If implemented as a Project Spec, a field would appear in any invoice associated with that project, and not just  the specific invoice which it was intended to modify.

If the Report Fields feature already available in Visual Report Templates were enabled for Invoice templates, custom fields for Invoices would be a cinch.

  Something that might help (at least for a past due notice): in Studiometry 9.0 you'll be able to have specific template items only appear if the invoice is at a specific status (paid, unpaid, overdue, etc). This means you can put a standard Past Due Notification text item in to your template, and whenever you re-generate it when it's overdue, the notification will automatically appear.

  Another location is the invoice notes, if that isn't already used for something else.

  With this in mind, though, we understand these won't apply to all situations. We'll look into possibly adding this into a future version. Thank you for your feedback.

  The conditional template items in 9.x will definitely be a help for my specific example. I'm already using the Invoice Notes field for Invoice Rev Date, and would really prefer to retain any of the Notes fields to be used for notes. That's why creation of invoice specific custom fields would be a big advantage as it already is in reports.

  Just bumping this request into 2012. Enabling Report Fields for Invoice templates would still solve a number of special notation needs when Invoice Notes has already been used.

  As work proceeds on upgrading Studiometry, please consider enabling Report Fields in invoice templates for version 11.

  We are looking into adding customized fields for invoices as well in an upcoming version of Studiometry.

  Without denigrating the desirabliity of Custom Fields for Invoices for an upcoming version of Studiometry, I have a pressing need for an additional date field which is Invoice specific.

  I've been using a project Spec field to hold Invoice Revision Date which has worked satisfactorily for single Invoice projects. Now I have longer term projects which involve multiple invoices. Once the Invoice Revision Date spec field has been set it shows up in all invoices related to that project, whether they have been revised or not.

  On presumption that adding a single invoice specific custom date field is less challenging from a coding standpoint than implementing a full range of custom fields as in Report Templates, please consider adding a floating date date field for invoices in an 11.x release.

  Custom Fields in Invoice visual templates has been Planned since 2013. Can we make it happen for v16? 

  In addition to reasons previously stated, my state has different tax rates by county depending on where goods are delivered. A custom field to indicate which tax rate is being employed would be very desirable.
