Accurate Work in Progress (WIP) summary

I am trying to create an accurate work in progress report that contains all projects that are currently in a category called "In progress".

The problem I have is that only projects that have some kind of "work" done in them will be listed (eg. debit/credit, invoice, etc) however if a project has just started this may not be the case. If I add "Tiers Totalling Zero" to the report to pick these up I then get EVERY project regardless of the category it is in.

Is there a way to list all projects, regardless of work from a certain category?

  Hi Craig,

  When editing a custom summary, under the "Tiers Totaling Zero" selection, choose "Show". This will then include any items without the work. Next, you'll have to select a "Group by" tier, and choose Project.  In that project's tier settings, choose a Filter of Category, and then in the window that appears select the specific categories you're interested in. This will then show all projects (of the specified project category) regardless of the project having or not having any actual work included.

  You can select your first "group by" to be client, and then the second tier to be the project. As long as you keep the "Tiers Totaling Zero" to show, and you update the project's tier to filter by the specific project category, everything will turn out how you'd like.

  This doesn't seem to work. If i sort by client first then all I get is a list of clients and the project names don't show. Additionally it shows clients that do not have projects in my chosen status.
