Additional ID Numbering and Reset Options

My business uses a client numbering scheme that cannot be automated in Studiometry, so I'd like to make a suggestion.

Our naming scheme goes a little like this:

• Every client has a distinct 3 letter code. Something like initials. We don't have that many clients, so the address space is big enough for now.
• Every project has the client's 3 letter code in it, along with the year, and a project number for the year.

For example AHT would be the client code.

AHT12-05 would be a project ID. It's a project in 2012, and it's the fifth project in this year.

Suggestion:

The client and year part is possible with the <C> and <YY> placeholder. The number is also possible, though it's not possible of forcing two digit numbers. Studiometry always truncates 01 to 1. So I end up with AHT12-1 and I would like it to be 01.

I would also like the ability to automatically reset numbers after a given period. Each month, each year...

  For the Client ID numbers, you can just manually type in the string when first creating the client. This can then be used in the project ID format as well if needed.

  If you want the project ID number to not display "01" as "1", then change the Project ID Format's <P> tag to <PP>. This will always display at least two digits.

  You can manually reset the numbers in the Preferences Window ID Numbering section, but as of right now there are no plans to include automated resets at intervals. We might consider adding this for a future version if we get enough feedback on the subject.

  Thanks a lot for the clarification. I guess I can reset the numbers manually.

  The number and client tags <C> <P> are OK, but a little old school. Especially when things are not documented. There's this button, but it doesn't say that <PP> exists. Or that you can use the <C> Client code in the Project number field. Which is sad, becaus this stuff is quite powerful.

  Have a look how another software does it. They use really cool tags (attached screenshots). You can place those tags from a tag pool as you want, a click on the arrow reveals format options. That's really self-explanatory. Maybe for a future update.

  We've been look g into transitioning to a control like the linked one, but the problem is that's a Mac specific control, and Studiometry is cross platform. We're working on developing something similar to hopefully get into the program soon.
