When I finish a project I add a representative image of that project to the image library so I can use it on invoices. Some images I use more than once as the project scope grows.
Since I started doing this I have close to 75 images in there and it's becoming unwieldy.
I'd like to have the option of a grid view and be able to sort and/or group the images according to name or tag.
How do you add an image to the Code Based Invoices?
For code-based invoices, you have to host the image elsewhere (on your server, etc) and then link to it. Code cannot have embedded images, so you'd simply link to the image using the <img src="http://www.yourserver.com/yourimage.png">
oh. Gee, I guess I need a server now. But, can't it link to your image library inside of SM?
Why doesn't SM have a capability to export an Invoice directly to a PDF?
I always have to make the HTML then Print As: PDF.
Sorry to have to bring this up again, but is there anything new about a way us creatives can simply add thumbnail image(s) to our project invoices?
In my invoice templates I click New Picture. Then, in the side panel Picture section I select the type of image. Usually I use Project Image.
Hhmm, I guess you're using the Visual Templates for Invoices, right? Which one? I've been using the Code Based Invoice Templates and trying to modify it for my particular Photo Biz.
Yes in visual templates you can add images from your library or from various other sources. You can also add these to work items, categories, or projects shown on the templates.
Yes, the Visual Templates. I just grabbed one of those supplied and rearranged things until I had something I liked. Still tweak it every now and then. I have one template for single projects with a large thumbnail showing the project and another multi-project template that shows smaller thumbnails next to the line item (using the Data Row with row type Projects>Debts Data Row).
I'll have to get out of the past and on to these Visual Templates! Tweeking encouraged, no doubt.
