The only way Stages would be useful for me would be if we had a way of actually viewing projects by their stages. Only two ways I can think of doing this
1) Create Smart Group "Project Rules" for Stages.
2) Include stages as a filter and sorting option in Summaries.
Neither of these features seem to exist. If there is another way, please let me know. Otherwise, please add this feature!

Have you tried the Planning tab for a project? There you can visualize projects by stages.
There is View All GANTT Charts from the File drop down menu.
Unfortunately, that only really shows ToDos and Milestones.
I did find a solution by creating a summary, but it takes too many steps.
1) Create custom summary, and make sure "Headings" and "Stages" are checked under "Show Fields".
2) Download summary as .txt file.
3) Drag into Excel.
4) Sort by "Stages" column.
It would be great if you could just directly sort and/or filter the Studiometry displayed summary via stages (and any of the other displayable fields).
Thanks for the feedback Mike and for the suggestions Rob. We do plan to add some sort of additional features that can pull from your project stages and put them into custom groups or summaries. The only issue is that stages are completely editable and are not all the same between projects (this is the opposite of how categories and statuses work, for example), so if you wanted to show all projects that are at a specific stage, it would have to match it by manually typing in the name as opposed to being able to select from a list of stages.
So for smart groups we will probably be able to add in a Stage condition but you will need to type in the name of the stage you want it to match or not match.
For summaries it would be a bit more complex, but we might be able to do something similar in there as well.

Also, since you can filter smart groups by project stage, you can use that Group when filtering a summary if you want to filter a summary based on project stage as well. 12.0.2 should be out next week.
