Is there a way to hide completed to do items?

  You can do this in a couple of ways. If you want, you can make a new Smart Group (File Menu > New Smart Group) and then you can create To Do rules that would exclude your completed To Dos. You can also use this to filter by project, due date, assigned, employee, etc.

  Another option that would also speed up your database would be to use File Menu > Data Management > Clean To Dos. From here, you can have the app delete & remove old completed to dos based on several criteria. If you don't need an old record of them, this would be the easiest way of cleaning things up.
