I am currently testing Studiometry Cloud after using Studiometry for a few years. I have been keeping my database in Dropbox for syncing and backup purposes.
What happens to local copies of the database after transition to Studiometry Cloud? Should I leave it in Dropbox or does Cloud take care of all backups and synchronization between machines? Does it matter where each local copy of Studiometry keeps its database?

So with Studiometry Cloud, your database will still be stored locally on every machine that you use to connect to your Cloud account. You should not keep it in a Dropbox folder for syncing, since Studiometry Cloud will do the syncing for you and also allow you to have the database open on multiple machines simultaneously without issue. If you use Dropbox and keep the database in there, it could cause issues if you're using it on multiple machines.
Regarding backups, each machine will make its own local backups based on your settings in the Preferences Window > General section. From there you can set up local backups however you'd like.
Also, if you don't have an active internet connection or can't connect to the Cloud for some reason, you can still use Studiometry locally with your local database, and any changes you make will sync to the cloud the next time you connect.
