Hello, Tom! Hope you're well.
Tom, I have a particular need of Studiometry that may not be something others would benefit from. But it would save me plenty of time each month, and I'd therefore be willing to pay toward development time — if, in fact, this is something you'd even be interested in providing.
I'm a software developer with a small firm and a few developers who work for me. My workflow is such that I often enter items directly into Studiometry and use its timer. But more often, I generate a CSV from my Github repository and associate each commit as a task with a project. I then add rates and hours and import the CSV into Studiometry.
It's the import that I struggle with, as I can only do it in two separate, laborious steps, which I then have to further organize once in Studiometry. First I import each project with a start date, associating each project with a client on import; and then I import the tasks with dates, hours and rates, while associating each with their parent project.
The end result is a beautiful and well-organized invoice, but it takes many hours to get there. And I'm increasingly feeling that something has to change, because as much as I love and appreciate Studiometry, I can't keep spending so many hours on non-billable invoice creation.
My dream Studiometry update would be a single import process that would handle projects and child tasks (Studiometry's "Billable Work & Expenses"), including start date per project, and dates, hours and rates per project-associated task.
If you have any interest in providing this enhanced import functionality, please let me know.
Thanks!
Regards,
Jonathan
