Possible to group Expenses and show only group total on invoice?

Hi, I am new to studiometry and have a few questions not knowing if this is possible or not. I downloaded version 11 and try it actually.

I need to be able to record my expenses of a project as they occur but also I need to be able to create 2 groups per month (TS-A-Month 1 and TS-B Month 1, and so on) and assign the expenses to this group. Setting a filter for a date range will not work as the expenses are not necessarily from the same period.

Further, when invoicing, I need to only have one line per this group and the total of the group, not showing all the detailed lines.`

The same would be needed for the fee to invoice.

Is there any possibility to do that ? Thanks for any information on that.

  Hi Udo,

  There are several ways you can do this. The way that sounds best for you is to, when you're creating the invoice, select two or more items in the Invoiced Items list and click the Merge button below the list:

  

  This will then bold the parent item and hide any child items in the list. On the invoice, this will appear as one line item with a combined total for all of the merged items. It will take any information from the parent item and display that on the invoice.

  A second way to do this is to create a Data rows on your invoice template, and show a combined total for each debt/credit category. This way you could show totals for the categories regardless of the number of items within the category. If you wanted to get really advanced, you could create a Combo Data Row, where the first section is for the Category and the second section is for the Debt/Credit Item, and you can then edit the Template Info and go to the Debt Categories tab within there, and set it up so certain categories are shown in detail and other categories are grouped.
