Hi, I just noticed that the checkmark for "Prevent Editing of Work and Expense items on Paid Invoices" on the Preferences Window, Advanced Billing Settings resets to unchecked after relaunching Studiometry.
My data folder is stored in Dropbox, and am running version 11.0.3
Studiometry 11.0.3 - Windows 7 64 bit
I have the same behavior exhibited in Antonio's comment. Database storage does not involve Dropbox.
Further to that, when the alert This Debt/Credit cannot be modified because it is attached to Paid Invoice! appears, it cannot be cleared by clicking on OK. It can only be cleared by clicking on the red X in the corner of the alert box.
The issue with the setting not saving has been fixed for 11.1. In regards to the warning window, is it possibly because multiple warning windows are being opened simultaneously? Try moving the topmost window to see if there are more underneath. Also, where are you going within the program that the window is appearing that is behaving like this?

Your analysis of the warning window issue is most likely correct. When my test was completed and I went back to Preferences to turn off Prevent Editing, another warning window appeared, and did close upon clicking OK. I was in the Edit Debt/Credit window when the warning appeared.
I don't use this Prevent Editing feature because as mentioned in my earlier bug report on the popup calendar returning a blank date when Today is selected, I frequently Duplicate older Debt/Credits for reuse in newer similar tasks, and the Prevent Editing feature does not support that. I would probably use it if the editing lock on a task were turned off on the duplicate created for reuse.
@Rob The issue related to the Today button in the calendar selector is being looked into for 11.1, and is most likely a Windows-only bug. We should have it fixed.
In regards to editing duplicated items, when you duplicate a Debt/Credit the newly created will not be attached to the invoice of the duplicated item, and the new item should be editable regardless of the date. Is this not the case for you? Where are you duplicating the item from?
Upon revisiting the Prevent Editing setup this morning, I can confirm that a duplicate of a paid Debt/Credit can be edited and saved without invoking the warning alert. My results from yesterday were obviously tainted by the hidden warning window which didn't get cleared up until after I restored the Billing Settings to their normal state.
